We begin our Popstar Festival party by talking about our popstar heroes (Taylor Swift, Pink, Little Mix, Olivia Rodrigo, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Adele, George Ezra, Ann Marie, Meghan Trainor, BTS, Lizzo, Miley Cyrus, Harry Styles, Rita Ora, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Beyonce, One Direction and many more!), the best pop songs and asking what makes popstars AMAZING! We then decide to take all of the best qualities from our favourite popstars (confidence, creativity, positive attitudes, fantastic outfits, great singing voices, stage presence, role model behaviour, fabulous dance moves, songwriting, rockstar poses etc) and become trainee popstars ourselves!
Our training starts off with a quiz where the trainee popstars will jump up and shout out the answers to the pop related questions by finishing off song lyrics, naming the singers and answering clues about different bands. Once we’ve warmed our minds up we then move onto a game of disco ball dance where our trainee popstars will show off their best dance moves and when the music stops they’ll jump onto a disco ball mat and do a pose! It’s then time for singing practice where we’ll warm up with some music scales before all grabbing a microphone and forming groups to practice singing a hit track and then they’ll perform their song to a panel of grownup judges, who will of course give high scores for effort and talent!
Choreography comes next so we’ll split the trainee popstars up into four age related groups and teach the groups some simple choreography. The smallest ones will do a simple move to the music (waving arms etc) then as we go up in age each group will add a move to the dance until the oldest are doing four different moves in a round! We then work on our self confidence and self belief by taking turns to spin the affirmation wheel and announcing to the room “I AM AMAZING”, “I AM CONFIDENT”, “I AM BRAVE” etc, all to huge applause by the grownups and fellow trainees!
Next we demonstrate our favourite poses for each other so we can all practice a range of new ones! We follow our pose practice with catwalk practice as we all sashay around the room looking our most fabulous and confident! It’s then time to dress up in our festival and stage outfits and get out the red carpet to lead us to our festival stage! The trainee popstars will all choose different items from the dressing up table and take turns to walk the red carpet, demonstrating their amazing catwalk struts and popstar poses as they reach the festival stage. The crowd will go wild and the paparrazi will take pictures! The popstars will then take to the stage together with their microphones and perform to their audience!
We’re all feeling on top of the world by this point and it’s only natural that our adoring fans should want to shower us with flowers, so we celebrate our birthday child by all (grownups included) grabbing a handful of flowers and gathering around them. We shout “HAPPY BIRTHDAY’ as we throw the flowers up in the air and they rain down over us, showering us all with love and adoration and making the birthday child feel super special! It’s then time to practice our signatures so we can sign some autographs for our fans. The children all get a pen and paper to create their most wonderful signature using their own name or a popstar name if they would like to be known by one they create! After a practice we then go round to all of our grownups and sign their autograph books, receiving high praise for our performances so far! We then discuss how popstars like to crowd surf at festivals and concerts and so we get out the parachute and practice keeping a ball on our parachute so we’re prepared to support our fellow trainee popstars should they decide to crowd surf at a later date!
At this point our trainees should all be ready to find out if they have what it takes to be real popstars when they grow up and so it’s time for our magic pass the parcel. If they receive a Taylor Swift style bracelet and a treat when they unzip their layer they’ll be confirmed as real popstars! Once everyone has received theirs (of course they all will!) we finish off with a celebratory group photo shoot on the stage, bring out the cake and sing Happy Birthday and then move onto our individual pictures, pictures with grownups and potion making, if this is added on!
It’s hard to find a little one who isn’t obsessed with Taylor Swift at the moment (and for good reason – she’s ace!) so our Popstar Festival Party has lots of Swiftie references and of course, loads of her music! We have Swiftie dressing up items as well for our catwalk and stage show so whether it’s a guitar, cowboy hat, heart shaped glasses, sequins or a feather boa your little one wants to wear, we’ve got it covered!
As with all of our parties potion making can be added on so the children can create and bottle their very own kind of magic to take home and remind them of the party! Let us know if you’d like to add potion making and/or themed sweet cones when you enquire.
At all of our parties we set up a beautiful themed backdrop which forms the focal point for the party but also doubles as a photography backdrop! We take pictures of the birthday child and their family plus pictures of all guests plus photos with their grownups too, all included in the party package!
Our children’s parties really do make dreams come true. We sow the seed for imaginative play and creative learning that continues long after the party. Themed information is weaved into the content of each party by our children’s party entertainers to tease little minds into exploring the topic further and also to encourage positive behaviour such as kindness, curiosity and care for the planet.
