PALENTINES DAY PARTIES!!!? Here’s a summary of what we did in February 2024!
We started off by talking about what Valentine’s day represents and that we were to celebrate the type of love we all have for the people and animals in our lives. We might refer to them as our friends, mates, crew, families, bros, homies or pals! While we talked about this, we (and our grownups!) were be offered some sparkly love dust on our hair and/or arms to help us sparkle as we celebrated love and friendship for all.
We then discussed how we can show and grow the love for our pals by being kind, supportive, helpful, choosing to focus on the positives and sharing our own kind of sunshine! Grownups were invited to join us on the dance floor as we got out the sunshine shakers and filled up the whole room with our sunshine!
We then talked about celebrating our differences as well as our similarities by playing our hugs or kisses game! We realised that we have lots in common with people we may not have thought we would, as we chose from two different options and found ourselves learning who likes the same things as us and that it’s absolutely ok to be friends with people who like different things too!
We then moved onto PALentines pause which involved us doing actions for lots of different kinds of love; such as blowing kisses, celebrating with high fives, group hugs and throwing flowers up in the sky when we say marriage! We then learned about Granny Peach’s recent spell of bad luck and that she was feeling very sad. As wonderful little ones who always help people to turn their frowns upside down we showed our love and support for Granny Peach by chasing her around the room and trying to hold her hand. When she held and squeezed our hand back it meant she felt our love and support and we were be allowed to put a magical love ring on her wrist. We did this until she felt so loved that she gave everyone a special prize to say thanks for cheering her up!
It was then time to share the love with each other so we got into a circle and passed round the magic hearts. When the music stopped the children who were holding one got up and selected someone in the room to give a hug, kiss or high five to! We definitely felt the love after that game so we then turned our attention to the animals! We selected an animal headband and danced around to the music while pretending to be the animal we selected. When the music stopped we swapped it for another and celebrated a different animal!
It was then time to celebrate love for all with our rainbow ribbons. We talked about how when we grow up we might fall in love with someone and that it doesn’t matter at all who we love, as long as we make each other feel wonderful! After our rainbow dance celebration we then talked about something very serious.. trumping!! When we love and care for someone we don’t mind if they trump in front of us, and so we got back into our circle and passed the hearts around again. Whoever was holding a heart when the music stopped came to the front with their grownup and their grownup sat on a cushion with a whoopee cushion underneath. The children got a treat bag when they gave their grownup a high five and said “that’s all right!”. Once everyone had the chance to sit on the cushions we all joined each other on the dance floor for a PALentines disco where we throwed the rainbow scarves around and danced together in a big, wonderfully happy group of friends!
It was then time to move onto our photoshoot, tattoos, stickers and craft section of the party!
The children were invited to create a Love Coupon for someone they love by filling in the section on the coupon underneath ‘this coupon entitles you to’ with a promise of their own! Some examples included ‘a big cuddle’, ‘a movie night where you choose the film’, ‘a takeaway’, ‘an hour of peace and quiet!’, ‘some flowers’ etc, but of course the little ones could choose anything to promise to the person they made it for! After visiting the stickers and tattoos table and having a photoshoot (with grownups too if wanted) they receive a lovely PALentines treat bag to take home.
Can’t wait to see you all at the next one!
All of our parties are wholesome, whimsical and immersive, and our Valentine’s Day celebrations are no exception! In signature Mrs Peach style we explore all of the most wonderful things about the most romantic time of the year and leave everyone feeling full of joy. We love to get the grownups involved in some of the games and activities too, so let yourself fill up with love and let’s make this the best Valentine’s Day ever!
As with all Mrs Peach Parties we create a beautiful themed backdrop scene! Our events have a different backdrop each year so our little ones and their families who have been to previous events will get a brand new setting for their seasonal celebrations each time! We are happy to do individual, family and group photos at all of our events, so feel free to get yourselves and the kids dressed up in Love Day colours and strike a pose!
Our seasonal events are held at The RAFA Club, Westby House, Golden Hill, Leyland, PR25 3NN. The club is in central Leyland, opposite the Leyland train station car park which is just £1 to park for the whole day.
