We’ll be having a fantastically fun and frightening magical adventure party PLUS you’ll make a spooky mask, get stickers, tattoos, tasty treats and ghoulish gifts AND have a photoshoot in front of our lavishly decorated spooky backdrop!
Tickets are just £13 per child. Adults and non participating siblings 2 and under (those who will just enjoy the atmosphere but are too young to join in properly) are welcome to join us for free! Here’s what we’ll be doing at this year’s Halloween Spooktacular!
Our theme for this year is trick or treat! We’re going to ring some doorbells and knock on some doors as we ‘trick or treat’ down Spooky Street on our way to Pumpkin Manor! Lots of our favourite Halloween characters live on Spooky Street, so every time we ring a magic doorbell or knock on a creaky old door we’ll meet somebody or something spooky that has a trick or task for us. As we complete each trick we’ll get a magic key and if we manage to collect all seven of the keys we’ll be able to unlock the door to Pumpkin Manor and play a special game of trick or treat!
We begin with an introduction to our favourite spooky season and find out what the children know about Halloween before we discuss our magical adventure to Pumpkin Manor, through Spooky Street! We’ll prepare for any chilling challenges we may encounter by playing a game of skulls, shoulders, knees and pumpkins before heading to our first house – the witch’s cottage in the woods! We set off through the forest but before we reach the witch’s cottage we hear a scary howl – the wolves live in the forest and they’ve got a challenge for us! We must join the pack by dancing like wolves and jump onto the full moons as soon as the music pauses to stop the wolves from changing into scary werewolves and biting our bums! We make sure to block the moonlight and the wolves are so happy to remain unchanged that they give us the first key to Pumpkin Manor!
Off through the forest we continue until we reach the witch’s cottage. She’s super grumpy as she’s got warts on her knees which stops her from gathering all of the ingredients to make her potions, so she tells us that if we can collect everything from her store, squeeze through her tiny kitchen and put the ingredients into the cauldron for her she’ll give us the next key! We set to work squeezing through the kitchen with the disgusting ingredients including eyeballs, insects and various herbs and then once the potion has been created we test the creepy concoction out and see if something magical happens!
With the next key in hand we continue on to a very grand looking castle on the other side of the woods. The castle is Hogwarts and there’s a problem – the Dementors have decided to descend on the castle and try to play quidditch! They have spilled all of the golden snitches all over the floor of the grand hall! We must tidy them up while dodging the dementors that fly overhead. If they touch us they may try to suck out our souls! Being fantastic at tidying and having super quick reflexes making it easy to dodge the dementors it’s not a problem for us and we collect the key from Dumbledore’s cauldron and move onto our next location.
We can see a large black house on the other side of a huge graveyard and so we enter the graveyard’s gate and creep towards the house. As we walk across the graveyard we disturb some playful skeletons who want to have a game of skeleton statues! We dance with the skeletons and when the music stops we freeze like a statue and pull silly skeleton faces at each other. The skeletons have a great time with us but as they are about to give us the next key a zombie climbs out of one of the graves and demands we all do a zombie dance too! After our zombie dance the skeletons and zombies are super tired and so they give us the next key, climb back into the graves and the graveyard is silent once more.
The house on the other side of the graveyard is the Addams Family house. Thing is there and he’s hidden the next key because he wants help practising his running so he can scare away all the trick or treaters on Halloween. He tells us he wants to play Thing Tag where he chases everyone and turns them into Things by tagging them. When we’re tagged our hands turn into Things and start running after all of the other non Things until everyone has Thing hands! Thing is super happy and wants to dance with all of the Things and tickle all of the grownups before he gives us the next key and lets us go to the next house!
It’s Cruella’s house next and she’s decided she’s not going to give us the key! We can’t get into Pumpkin Manor without it so we need a plan to distract her so we can steal it. Inside her house are lots of interesting items but the basket of ghost dissolving capsules could be useful so we decide to use that as a distraction. The house after this is Ghost Manor and we’ll need the colourful ghost dissolving capsules if we can hope to get past the ghosts, but Cruella has mixed them up with some black and white spots she’s stolen from the dalmations! It’s up to us to outrun Cruella as we sort the ghost dissolving capsules into one basket and the dalmatian spots into another. We’re so fast that Cruella gets fed up with chasing us and sits on the floor crying. While she’s distracted we’re able to return the spots, take the capsules and steal the key from her!
We run from Cruella’s house with everything we need and it’s through the doorway of Ghost Manor next. The key could be hidden anywhere so as we search the house we take the ghost dissolving capsules with us and when the ghosts appear we throw the capsules at the ghosts so that eventually they dissolve into nothing and we’re able to find the final key!
We’ve now got everything we need to open the door to Pumpkin Manor and so we make our way into the grand Pumpkin Hall to play our final game of trick or treat. This involves the children passing the pumpkin round the circle and choosing a card from the pumpkin jar. The card may say ‘treat’ – in which case they will get a bag of tasty Halloween treats or it may say ‘trick’ – in which case they or their grownup must complete a challenge to earn the treat bag!. Once all of the little ghouls have earned their treat bag and we’ve seen some fabulously funny tricks it’s time for an amazing phantom photoshoot in front of our lavish backdrop, to make a spooky mask craft and to visit our sticker and tattoo table!
We are SO excited to go on this magical adventure with you all!
All of our parties are wholesome, whimsical and immersive, and our Halloween Spooktacular events are no exception. We focus on the fun, playful, historical elements of Halloween such as ghosts, witches, potions and pumpkins and leave the horror parts to the grownups. We do however mix things up with modern day spooky TV and film characters and villains, so there were references to Wednesday Addams, Cruella DeVil and the Ghostbusters chasing Slimer in the 2023 parties!
As with all Mrs Peach Parties we create a super spooky backdrop for Halloween, lavishly garnished with fabulous Halloween decor! Our events have a different backdrop each year so our little ghouls and their families who have been to previous events will get a brand new setting for their spooky celebrations each time! We are happy to do individual, family and group photos at all of our events, so feel free to get yourselves and the kids dressed up in freaky finery and strike a pose!
Our Halloween Spooktacular events are held in central Leyland at the British Commercial Vehicle Museum on King Street and at The RAFA Club which is right by the train station. Convenient parking is available at public car parks opposite both venues for a small cost and for free on surrounding roads if you don’t mind a little walk.
